Building the relationships and systems that move industries forward.

Josh Rainbow connects industry leaders, governments, institutional buyers and global capital to accelerate Canadian technology, energy and major projects. He is the founder of Future Summit, an independent executive platform built to move complex opportunities from introduction to action.

Deals move at the speed of trust.

Canada does not have a talent problem. It has a coordination problem. Technology, capital, industry and government each operate inside their own network, and the routes between them are slow, informal and easy to lose. I build those routes, then stay accountable for what comes out the other end. The work is judged on what closes.

    How I got here

I had a paper route at eight. By nineteen I was running a few jobs at once, until a mentor asked me what I'd do when I ran out of hours. I didn't have an answer.

Moving to Calgary in 2018 dropped me into a technology community I did not expect to shape my life. Student associations, then years of volunteering, then helping build YYC DataCon past fifteen hundred people. Somewhere in there I stopped being satisfied by attendance and started asking what any of it actually produced.

Future Summit is the answer I am building now.

    How I create leverage

Function: Open the door, qualify both sides, then stay in it until something closes
Output: Named introductions with an owner, a next step and a date
Target: Judged on what actually closes
Function: Instrument operations and retire manual analysis
Output: Production systems — roughly 30 data, AI and intelligence products across five years
Target: Weeks of analysis compressed into hours
Function: Create shared context and align incentives face to face
Output: Curated dinners, roundtables, trade delegations and the Future Summit platform
Target: 400+ executives engaged in Future Summit's first year
Function: Capital, introductions and operating help at the stage where they matter most
Output: Advisory positions and early-stage participation alongside Future Summit
Target: Founders building where Alberta has a structural advantage

Future Summit: an independent executive media, events and trade platform

I founded Future Summit in January 2025 to do one thing: build trusted routes between technology leaders, legacy industry, institutional buyers, capital and every level of government. Events are one delivery mechanism. The product is coordination.

It is independently operated rather than built on ongoing government funding. That lets it move quickly, stay commercially accountable, and work across institutional mandates instead of inside one. It exists to do what ad-hoc networking cannot:

    • Give both sides the same picture
    • Line up incentives early
    • Turn talk into funded work
    400+

Executives engaged across Future Summit's first-year events, curated meetings and year-round platform

    Rooms I have built

A room is a delivery mechanism. The product is what comes out of it.
